Every glimmer slowed down
Every glance more warming
I try to make best of it now
Free from all the distance in the morning
And now the morning’s fast arriving
Now mourning for the last horizon
Mourning for when you first rolled in
Do you take a chance of the first wave?
While you’re soaking in those last rays
You’re like the last rays of summer
You’re like those last rays of summer
You’re like the last rays of summer
You’re like those last rays of summer
Yeah the last rays are bitter sweet
So I look to the sea
Untie the rope from the dock
Cool and calm you keep
You know this boat was set to rock
You know we’re not going under
Pointed feet hit the streets
Clear the cloud of the thunder
This is the sound of me breaking free
Do you take a chance of the first wave?
While you’re soaking in those last rays
You’re like the last rays of summer
You’re like those last rays of summer
You’re like the last rays of summer
You’re like those last rays of summer
Because the last rays are bitter sweet
Do you take a chance of the first wave?
While you’re soaking in those last rays
When it all becomes too much
I like to bury myself in the sun
This is a damn fine release. It feels genuine; at times even emotional (in a good way). It's fun and witty while also being pissed off in all the right ways. It's political, critical, and nonconformist. Yet it still manages to feel original in an arguably oversaturated genre. Nicholas Whittemore
