Full of Hate

from Nine Lives by PAT DECLINE

/
  • Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album

After spending the last 10+ years releasing tunes in The Decline, Australia's answer to the 90's Californian skate-punk movement, Pat Decline has announced something he's been threatening to do for a while now - a debut solo acoustic record entitled Nine Lives.
Nine Lives contains nine stripped back, acoustic folk punk songs reminiscent of artists such has Jeff Rosenstock, Frank Turner, Dan P, Joe McMahon and Brendan Kelly, whilst not deviating too far from the songwriting style which The Decline have become known for.
Nine Lives features additional musicianship from members of Nerdlinger, Vetty Vials, Ess-Em & even Dave Berry or as they are all jokingly being referred to for this album "Pat Decline & The Cat Haven Volunteers"

lyrics

Welcome to the outside, you’re not as strong as you claim,
I know you suffered for your story, but did you suffer for the fame?
Occupying blank space, you were never meant to take,
And if I laugh at all your failures, am I just full of hate? I’m walking away

Did you worry when she didn’t come home?
Maybe a flat tyre on the side of the road,
There were some inconsistencies in the story?
Should you worry? I don’t know

Did you notice her turn away form cigarette smoke?
And did you notice her blank face when you threw the first stone?
If you go looking for trouble you might find it,
Are you happy now that you know?

I’m throwing up on the train,
And you hide behind shelves and we both build a new name,
Some inconsistencies in the story?
Will you tell them, are you afraid?
Welcome to the outside.
